ELVA EDDLEMAN – DECATUR, GA

Elva Epps Eddleman, age 90, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009.
Interment was held at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery in Elberton, Georgia, directed by A. S. Turner & Sons. Mrs. Eddleman was a native of Kingstree, and the daughter of the late Latimer Peele Epps and Ruth Mills Epps. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay Eddleman, Jr. She received her B.S. degree in Home Economics from Winthrop University and her Master’s in Education from The University of Georgia. She taught Home Economics in Kingstree, third grade at Ashford Park Elementary School in DeKalb County, and was a high school guidance counselor at Henderson High School until her retirement. She was a founding member of Northwoods United Methodist Church in Doraville, Georgia, a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur, Georgia, a member of the Dekalb County Retired Teacher’s Association, and a member of the Georgia Retired Teacher’s Association. Survivors are: two sons, Dr. Clay Eddleman of Henderson-ville, GA; and Carroll Eddle-man of Hoschton, Georgia; and three grandchildren.
