Ellis Smith Wrenn, Sr., 76, died Sunday, September 30, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at the chapel of Williamsburg Funeral Home. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Mr. Wrenn was born June 29, 1936, in Berkeley County, a son of the late Olin Smith Wrenn and Ella Mae Lyons Wrenn. He was a member and chairman of the trustees of Lane United Methodist Church. A son, Mark Anthony Wrenn, a brother, Dempsey Wrenn, and a sister, Marie Wrenn, preceded him in death. Survivors are: one daughter, Nina Gilbert (Larry) of Pineville; three sons, “Smitty” Wrenn (Jean) of Lane; Davy Wrenn (Atchie) of Garden City; and Chris Wrenn (Eileen) of St. Stephen; one sister, Elise Caddell of Macedonia; one brother, Percy Wrenn of Charleston; and three grandchildren.
