Funeral services for Elijah “Spiderman” Dorsey, conducted by the Rev. Terry B. Law, Sr., were held Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at the William N. Redmond Memorial Chapel of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery of Kingstree. Mr. Dorsey, 61, died Friday, February 15, 2013, at the Williamsburg Regional Hospital of Kingstree. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie (Rosa Mae) Dorsey, Jr. of Kingstree. He was a member of Siloam Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated in the Williamsburg County Schools and graduated from Tomlinson High School in 1969. He attended Johnson C. Smith University of Charlotte, North Carolina. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #237. He was married to the late Delores Nesmith Dorsey.
Survivors are: one son, Ricco E. Dorsey of Kingstree; two daughters, Galvernetta Anderson (James) and Antionette Dorsey of Atlanta, Georgia; three brothers, Joseph Dorsey (Mary), and Abraham Dorsey (Naomi) of Kingstree; and Benjamin Dorsey of Brooklyn, New York; one sister, Delores Dorsey-Akamike of Kingstree; and three grandchildren.
