DOROTHY STATON - KINGSTREE

Dorothy McIntyre Staton, 83, widow of James E. Staton, died Sunday, January 31, 2010, at the Presbyterian Home in Florence. Graveside funeral services, conducted by Rev. David Ruth, were held Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Williamsburg Cemetery, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home.
She was born April 20, 1926, in Ellerbe, North Carolina, a daughter of the Rev. John A. and Lilly Mae McArthur McIntyre. She was a graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, and was a bookkeeper and a reservationist for Eastern Airlines. She was a former Sunday school and Bible teacher. Mrs. Staton was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Smith. Survivors are: one sister, Mary M. Stockton, of Kingstree; and two granddaughters. Memorials may be made to Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 411 N. Academy Street, Kingstree, SC 29556.
