Funeral services for David “Mickey” Conyers, conducted by the Rev. Benjamin Graham, were held Saturday, August 21, 2010, at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Salters. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Jerusalem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Conyers died Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at Carolinas Hospital System. He was born February 2, 1940, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Alex and Martha Swinton Conyers. He was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County. He was employed with Cecil Blakes Logging Company. He was married to the late Mary E. Morris. Survivors are: eight children, Andrea McCrea (Charlie) of Andrews; Joan Conyers of Salters; Bruce Conyers (Attalah) and Samuel Conyers of St. Petersburg, Florida; Michelle Newton (Oral) of Conway; David Conyers, Jr., Jennifer Conyers and Patricia Chandler (Norris), all of Myrtle Beach; three sisters, Mary Kahan (Willie) of Baltimore, Maryland; Bobbie Shield and Edna McCray (Kerby) of Salters; three brothers, Joe Conyers (Betty) of Trio; James Conyers of Baltimore, Maryland; and Stanley Conyers (Queen Ester) of Lane; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
