Funeral services for Christopher “Chris” White, conducted by the Rev. W.S. James, were held Monday, May 21, 2012, at Asbury United Methodist Church of Andrews. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Asbury Cemetery of Andrews. Mr. White died Wednesday, May 16, 2012. He was born August 14, 1959, in Andrews, the son of Mrs. Emma White Johnson and the late Freeland White, Sr. He was educated at St. Mark Elementary and St. Mark High School, where he was a graduate of the Class of 1977. He completed a course at Williamsburg Technical College for small engines. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where he served on the Trustee Board, Building Committee, and Finance Committee. He was employed by Colonial Rubber Plant of Kingstree for over 20 years; Palmetto Synthetics of Kingstree for two-and-a-half years; and Performance Fabrics and Fibers of Andrews. He was also a member of Good Hope Masonic Lodge #409. One brother, Kenneth White; his stepfather, Roosevelt Johnson; and one stepbrother, Ollie Johnson, preceded him in death. Survivors, in addition to his mother of Andrews, are: three children, Christopher T. White (Marisa) of Rochester, New York; Jamal A. White of San Diego, California; and Christina S. White of Kingstree; one stepson, Anthony White of Johnsonville; three brothers, Johnny White (Barbara) and Tyrone White (Lyasia), both of Andrews; and Freeland White, Jr. (Dyann) of Columbia; three sisters, Nettie W. Nesmith (James), Gwenevere W. Rush (Elder James), both of Andrews; and Andreager T. White of Spanaway, Washington; six grandchildren; and four stepsisters.
