Funeral services for Buddy Brockington, conducted by Pastor Thomas Samuels, were held Monday, July 16, 2012, at Clauddie Henryhand Memorial Chapel of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Florence National Cemetery of Florence. Mr. Brockington died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Dorn VA Medical Center of Columbia. He was born December 25, 1948, in Andrews, the son of the late Thomas and Edna Rush Brockington. He attended the public schools of Williamsburg County. He served honorably in the US Army, and was the recipient of many awards including two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star Medal.
Survivors are: two daughters, Pamela Harris (Cornell) and Monique Brockington; five brothers, Frank Brockington (Rinthia), Gene Brockington (Diane), James Brockington, Randy Brockington (Joanne) and David Brockington (Joyce); three sisters, Bernice Thomas (David), Heddie Dorsey and Oria McCray (Harold); and three grandchildren.
