SAMUEL SCOTT - KINGSTREE

Funeral services for Samuel Scott, conducted by the Rev. Manuel Fogle, were held Monday, June 16, 2008 at Clauddie Henryhand Memorial Chapel in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Great Present AME Memorial Garden.

Mr. Scott died Wednesday, June 11, 2008. He was born September 19, 1938 in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Louis and Mary Wilson Scott. He attended the public schools of Williamsburg County.

He was a member of Great Present AME Church. He was a mechanic by profession and trade. Survivors are: his wife, Dorothy Scott of the home; one daughter, Sandy Scott of Hackensack, New Jersey; and one sister, Lillie S. Bradley of Andrews.

MARGARET McCLARY - SALTERS

Funeral services for Margaret Olether McClary, conducted by the Rev. R.J. Williams and Rev. Thurmond Williams, were held Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Jerusalem United Methodist Church in Salters. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Jerusalem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Ms. McClary, 57, died Thursday, June 12, 2008 in Columbia.

She was born October 21, 1950 in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Mannie McClary and Hannah McClary. She was a member of Jones Memorial AME Zion Church, where she sang with The Jubilee Choir. She was a graduate of Blakely High School class of 1969. She was employed by Pontiac Foods in Columbia.

Survivors are: one son, Andre McClary of Columbia; four sisters, Mrs. Earline Sabb (Joe) of Salters; Mrs. Sarah Jane Lockhart of Columbia; Alice Maronica McClary-Byrd of Rochester, New York; and Julet McClary of Columbia; three brothers, Leon McClary (Mary) of Buffalo, New York; Eddie McClary and Jimmy McClary (Cristean), both of Salters; and a host of step-sisters and a step-brother.

ANNA WILLIAMS - KINGSTREE

Funeral services for Elder Anna Lee Starks Williams, conducted by the Rev. Willie G. Jackson, and Apostle Mary Scott Nelson, were held Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Greater Lane Chapel AME Church in Lane. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home Funeral, followed at McKnight Cemetery.

Elder Williams, 62, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at McLeod Hospital in Florence. She was born on March 9, 1946, a daughter of the late Taylor Starks, Sr. and Mary Emma Wilson.

She was self-employed as an income tax preparer for many years. Survivors are: her husband, Earl Williams; two daughters, Cassandra Cooper (Jason McFadden) of Kingstree; and Mrs. Marla S. Flagler (Elbert) of Cocoa, Florida; five brothers, Elijah Wilson, Jr. (Cora) of Lake City; Julius Starks (Schylever), Leron Starks (Vernell) and Taylor Starks, Jr., all of Greeleyville; and Allen D. Starks (Ophelia) of Kingstree; six sisters, Mrs. Geneva Murray (Alex, Sr.) of Lane; Lelia Baskett and Judy Wilson, both of Atlanta, Georgia; Mrs. Rosa Bell Lawler (Nathaniel) and Elizabeth Wilson, both of Pahokee, Florida; and Mrs. Daphne Boston (Pastor Curtis) of Kingstree; those she loved as daughters, Charlotte Brooks of Sumter; and Gaylon Brooks of Atlanta, Georgia; a special niece who was a caretaker during her sickness, Destiny Smith; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
