MARTHA "PAT" LOVETT TANNER

1935 - 2024

Mrs. Martha “Pat” Lovett Tanner, 88, wife of the late Uly Joe Tanner, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Pat was born on September 18, 1935, in Williamsburg County, daughter of the late James Braxton Lovett and Margaret Emma Cooper Lovett Cockfield. She was a graduate of Indiantown High School and Flora McDonald College. Mrs. Pat was a retired secretary for Southern Agricultural Chemical and Kellahan Farms. She was a lifelong member of Indiantown Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Pat sang in the choir for 72 years, served as a deacon and elder, and served in various other positions in the church.

Surviving are her four children, Lyn Roberts, Joey Tanner, Sara (Barry) Huggins and Karl Tanner; eight grandchildren, Becky (Jamie) Cribb, Nichole Roberts, Barry (Lesley) Huggins, Jr., Karl Tanner, Jr., Rachael (Jacob) Staub, Ben Huggins, Beth (Rob) Tanner and Aidan Tanner; six great-grandchildren, Brice, Brayden, Owen, Ava, Karter, and Tanner; loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Uly Joe Tanner; sister, Eleanor (Sellis) Hanna; brother, Braxton (Virginia) Lovett; son-in-law, Ray Roberts; sister-in-law, Winnie Rogers Snowden and brother-in-law, Herman M. Tanner.

The family would like to thank Agape Hospice, especially Jean Smith, for their loving care.

Funeral services directed by Carolina Funeral Home, were held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Indiantown Presbyterian Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
