Two incidents in which a total of three people were shot early on Sept. 10, in the Kingstree area are under investigation but are not related, according to Williamsburg County Sheriff Stephen Gardner.

Deputies first responded to a shooting on Oakwood Road.

A short time later, deputies received a call about another individual who had been shot in the Bubzy Road area. They learned that two shootings in that incident were connected.

While on the Oakwood Road scene, deputies were advised of a person who sustained gunshot injuries. The person was transported to Williamsburg Regional Hospital and treated for injuries.

Deputies learned that the person was at a residence when the subject(s) drove by and fired a gun from a vehicle. The subject(s) left the area in an unknown direction, according to a WCSO news release.

Deputies responded to the hospital, where they received a call about another person who had been shot near Bubzy Road,

Upon arrival, deputies located the person who had been shot. That individual claimed to have been assaulted and shot by another subject.

According to the news release, the person who had been shot retrieved a gun and shot the other individual.

Deputies were able to connect the two shootings near Bubzy Road.

The status of any of the three individuals who were shot in the two incidents is unknown at this time, according to the sheriff’s office.
