The Williamsburg County Fire Department announced the passing of their former chief, Ed Harville this weekend. Harville passed away Friday, January 26 following a battle with cancer.
Harville began his career with Williamsburg County Fire Department as a firefighter and mechanic and worked his way through the ranks to chief, says the department. He was instrumental in building the training facility and modeling rural specific firefighter training program, and mentoring and supporting many firefighters throughout his career.
