Disher
Heather Marie Disher, 48, of Alcolu, was arrested and charged with larceny by the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office. According to Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office, on March 22, the Kingstree Police Department requested the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office look into an issue related to missing funds from a petty cash box located in the department of the Town of Kingstree.
Investigators discovered that Disher had taken cash from the Town of Kingstree without proper authorization. Access to the petty cash funds were limited to employees only. According to the arrest warrant, Disher was denied approval for funds for purchasing a Christmas gift for the Water Department employees. She then allegedly took $100 from the petty cash to reserve a room at Willie Sue’s Restaurant in Sumter.
Disher surrendered herself to Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office on April 29 and was booked into Williamsburg County Detention Center on her respective charge. The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
