Disaster Recovery Center opens

The S.C. Emergency Management Division, Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Small Business Administration and other agencies have set up a disaster recovery center for Williamsburg County citizen who were impacted by Hurricane Matthew. The agencies will be located at the Williamsburg County Recreation Center, 2084 Thurgood Marshall Blvd. from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday - Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

The agencies will provide help for residents with aid applications. Register with FEMA before visiting the center. Residents can do this by either visiting disasterassistance.gov or by calling the FEMA helpline at 1-800-621-3362. Hearing impaired can call 1-800426-7585.

In addition, the Red Cross will be assisting residents with immediate needs from Wednesday, October 26, to Friday, October 29, from 9a.m. to 5p.m. On Thursday, Catholic Charities will provide produce.
