Curfews have been issued across Williamsburg County Williamsburg County Emergency Management Director Tiffany Cooks has issued a State of Emergency for Williamsburg County and all townships and municipalities. The following Police Chiefs will enforce curfews starting at 6:00pm tonight until future notice. They are:  Chief of Greeleyville, Mike Graham Chief of Hemingway, Bryan Todd Chief of Kingstree, Eric Williams Chief of Lane, Charles McFadden. Cooks has also issued an evacuation for all citizens of the Town of Kingstree. The evacuation is issued in anticipation of the cresting of Black River sometime between now and Monday. The National Weather Service provided the information. Citizens wishing to stay home and not follow the evacuation will do so at their own risk. The curfews will be strictly enforced and citations will be issued to violators. Citizens needing assistance to leave their home can call 843-354-0790 In addition, several SEC offices have been affected by flooding and all employee efforts are focused on power restoration. Therefore all SEC offices will be closed to members Monday.  The call center and dispatch center will remain in operation through the duration of this event.   SEC encourages members to stay off the roads until conditions improve by following the directions of your local emergency management officials.  There will be NO disconnects for nonpayment during this period as safety and restoration are our top concerns. Additional notifications regarding the remainder of the week will be forthcoming. It is very important to be aware of downed power lines. If you see a power line down, please stay away and report it immediately.
