Shooting at Kingstree nightclub leaves one man dead. On July 4, at approximately 4:00 a.m., deputies with the Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting incident that occurred at 55 Williamsburg County Hwy. North, Kingstree. Upon arrival, deputies found a deceased male, Ernie Shay Burgess, age 30, of Lake City lying in the parking lot area of Mingles Night Club (formerly The Jetaway Lounge). According to investigators, Anthony Quinn Nero, age 28, of Olanta and the victim had a dispute in the parking lot, which resulted in gunshots being fired. Nero, along with Troy Frierson, age 29 of Lake City and Raheem Joseph McCrea, age 29, of Kingstree were apprehended a short distance from the club and were identified as the persons responsible for the murder. Nero was charged with Murder, Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime and Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon. Frierson was charged with Accessory Before the Fact of a Felony and Accessory After the Fact of a Felony A, B, C or Murder. McCrea was charged with Accessory After the Fact of a Felony A, B, C or Murder. The three suspects were booked at the Williamsburg County Detention Center. The investigation into this matter is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
