Runoff Expected

The turnout for the Senate District 32 Special election on September 2, was impressive in terms of margins. The votes are so close that an out-right winner won't be determined until another election on September 16. The totals are unofficial until certification on Thursday. A total of 14,126 voters cast ballots in the election that included all or portions of five counties. Williamsburg County Council member and attorney Sam Floyd carried Williamsburg County and his total 4493 votes for District 32 provided a 31.8 percent tally. S.C. House of Representative Ronnie Sabb who carried 3483 votes or 24.7 percent edged out Lake City attorney Cezar McKnight who had 3443 votes or 24.4 percent. S.C. Rep. Carl Anderson had 2,707 votes for 19.2 percent. Twenty provisional votes for Williamsburg County and other provisional votes in four counties have yet to be counted as well.
