Lois Mitchell, St. Stephens - Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Evelena Bland Mitchell, conducted by the Rev. Benjamin Milligan, were held Sunday, August 10, 2014, at Redeemer R.E. Church of Pineville. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Sunset Memorial Cemetery of St. Stephen.
Mrs. Mitchell died Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Trident Medical Center of Charleston. She was born March 1, 1932, in Pineville, the daughter of the late Janie Nesbitt and George Bland. She attended the public schools of Berkeley County. She was a member of Redeemer Reformed Episcopal Church, where she served on the Senior Choir, the Missionary Board, and the Senior Usher Board. She was a member of the Community Prayer Band of Pineville.?She was married to the late St. Julian (Sunny) Mitchell.
Survivors are: four sons: Alexander Bland (Beaulah) of Winnsboro; Johnnie Mitchell (Lisa) and Julian Mitchell (Nancy), both of Hickory, North Carolina; and Sandy Mitchell (Ruth Etta) of Jasper, Florida; four daughters, Barbara Ann Gaiter (Larry) and Geraldine Pou, both of Raleigh, North Carolina; Hazel Sims (Robert) of Garner, North Carolina; and Helen Pinckney (Robert) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two sisters: Annie Washington of Pineville; and Victoria B. Watson of Charleston; two brothers, Thomas Bland of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; and Booker T. Bland of Cross; 33 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
