D.P. Cooper Charter School’s board members are ready to begin the new school year. Dr. Kerry D. Singleton, principal of D.P. Cooper Charter School, said, “We are very pleased to be represented by a board made up of members of our local community.
We know, as parents and members of our area, that they will always make decisions that reflect the best interest of the students and D.P. Cooper Charter School.”
The members include:
Linda Huell, chair, is a retired educator and former superintendent. She is a member of Jerusalem United Methodist Church, Williamsburg Retired Educators’ Association, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Willie Graham is vice-chair. Graham is president of the D.P. Cooper PTA, employed with Trimac Dry Bulk Group, Inc., and a volunteer firefighter.
Keisha McDonald is the board secretary. She is a licensed hairdresser by the Board of Barber Examiners and a former instructional assistant of Lane Head Start.
Lydia Brown is the board treasurer. Brown is employed with Vital Aging of Williamsburg County. She is a former customer care/clerk of the Kingstree Water Department.
James H. Darby, Sr., is a retired educator and served as principal of Blakely School. He also served as the chair of the Williamsburg County School District Board of Trustees. In addition, he retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service.
The Rev. Rex Fredrick is employed by Palmetto Paper Tube Company of Hemingway. He received his ministerial certification from Wheaton University’s Chaplin Training School for Prison Ministry.
Leon Thomas is vice-president of the D.P. Cooper PTA, a member of Jerusalem United Methodist Church, Associate District Deputy of the Knights of Pythagoras, and a member of Gideon Masonic Lodge 428.
