Crash on highway 52 delays train service

  • Tuesday, August 5, 2014

A woman and two passengers endured a harrowing ride Friday. Erica Williams, 37, of Hemingway was traveling north on Highway 52 when she lost control of her 2006 Nissan. Williams’ vehicle crashed into a telephone pole, then continued through a grassy area, up an embankment, and finally came to a rest on top of a set of train tracks. The crash occurred across from Longstreet Chevrolet. Train service was delayed for two hours until the car could be removed. No one was seriously hurt in the crash. Williams was cited for driving too fast for conditions. PHOTO BY MICHAELE DUKE
