Seniors Patrol - The Kingstree Police Department is offering a seniors patrol wellness check. Any elderly, ill or bedridden residents of the Town of Kingstree who would like for the police department to contact them on a regular basis should call Chief Eric Williams or Police Chaplain the Rev. Harold Jackson. Chief Williams or Rev. Jackson can be reached at 355-5435 or come by the police department and leave your name, phone number, and address.

Senior Bingo - The senior citizens of Lane invite any senior citizen to join them every first and third Tuesday at Lane Recreation Center on Broomstraw Rd. for “Senior Bingo.”

Housing Authority - The Housing Authority of Kingstree will meet every third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at 1022 Lexington Ave., Kingstree.

Health Screening - The Nursing Department of Francis Marion University has been approved to provide free health screenings every Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Felician Center located at 1000 Thorne Avenue, Kingstree. Sugar testing, vision testing etc. will be provided free of charge. In addition, a licensed nurse will be available to assist individuals with some health planning on a regular basis.

Program - Through The Storm Outreach, Inc., a Maternity Group Home located in Kingstree, has beds available for youth ages 16 to 22. They will come pick the youth up from your facility and intake them into their program for up to 540 days. There are five beds available for pregnant and parenting girls. Yoga Classes - Regular yoga classes for beginners and Chair yoga classes are offered at the St. Alban’s Episcopal Church Parrish Hall at 305 Hampton Ave., Kingstree. Please use the door at the hall that does not face Hampton Ave. on the left side. The classes are open to a diverse population and require no experience with yoga. Reunion - The Tomlinson Alumni, Inc. of Kingstree announces its bi-annual school reunion for Labor Day Weekend, to begin Friday, August 29 through Sunday, August 31. 4-H Day Camp - Williamsburg County 4-H will be hosting a Summer Festival July 31, at the Kingstree Town Recreation Center on Nelson Blvd. in Kingstree from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The festival will have livestock animals, arts and crafts, and ice cream cones. Proceeds from an admission fee will benefit the local 4-H Clubs.

4-H Day Camp - Williamsburg County 4-H will be hosting a Day Camp at the Clemson Extension office at 9 Courthouse Square in Kingstree July 28 - 30 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. daily. Food Plot Course - Clemson Extension and the National Wild Turkey Federation will be hosting a Wildlife Food Plot Short Course Wednesday August 6, at Browns BBQ in Kingstree. The buffet supper will be served at 6:30, with the program running from 7:00pm- 8:00pm. Wednesday, August 6, grades seventh through ninth, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 7, grades 10th through 11th, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 8, grade 12th (seniors), 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, August 11, new and transfer students and make up day for seventh through 12th. Meeting- The regular scheduled Waccamaw EOC, Inc. Board of Director’s meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 29, at 7 p.m. at the Chavis Early Head Start Center, 2811 S. State Highway 41-51, Hemingway. The public is welcome to attend.

Registration - Kenneth Gardner Elementary School, serving Williamsburg County students in grades third to fifth, will hold registration for the 2014-2015 school year on Wednesday, August 6, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Day Camp - Williamsburg and Florence County 4-H are partnering together to present “Healthy Kids in the Kitchen” cooking day camp in Hemingway August 12 to August 13.

This camp is open to all youth in Florence and Williamsburg counties ages nine to 13. The camp will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. They will meet at the First United Methodist Church of Hemingway located at 200 E. Broad Street. Attendees will prepare a snack and lunch meal each day. The class is limited to 20 students so sign up soon! The deadline to register is August 7. Pre-registration is required!

Registration - Hemingway Elementary School will hold 2014-2015 school registration Monday, August 4 and Tuesday, August 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, August 6, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, August 7, from 7:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Charter School Registration - D.P. Cooper Charter School registration for new, transfer, and returning students will be held Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until August 14. Transportation for students will be provided in the D.P. Cooper, Bloomingvale, Greeleyville, Lane, Kingstree, and St. Mark areas. Tuition is free! For additional information please contact D.P. Parent orientation will be held on Tuesday, August 12, at 6 p.m. in the gym.

Zeta Yard Sale - Delta Tau Zeta Sorority will sponsor a yard sale Saturday, August 2, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Sorority House located at 25 Gausetown Rd., Kingstree.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the scholarship program.
