Willie Goodman, Sr., Alvin - Funeral services for Deacon Willie James Goodman Sr., conducted by Pastor John W. Wilson and the Rev. Jerome Gadsden, were held Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Alvin. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Holly Hill Christian Church Cemetery of Alvin. Mr. Goodman died Monday, July 7, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 11, 1956, in Moncks Corner, the son of Wihilimena Adkins Goodman and the late James Berry Goodman. He was a member of Holly Hill Christian Church. He was a 1976 graduate of Macedonia High School. While in school, he was employed by the Berkeley County Transportation System. After graduating, he was later employed by Santee River Wool Company in Jamestown, and later became employed with Badcock Furniture Company. In August of 1998, he returned to Santee River Wool Company. In addition, he was employed by Henryhand Funeral Home of St. Stephen. He was a taxi driver. He was married to the late Gwendolyn Edwards. A sister, Mamie Lee Robinson, preceded him in death. †
Survivors, in addition to his mother of Moncks Corner, are: his wife, Tracey Bush Goodman of Gainesville, Florida; two sons, Tyrone Edwards and Willie Goodman, Jr. of Alvin; three daughters, Na’Kaylia M. Bush and Na’Tarvia M. Goodman, both of Gainsville, Florida; and Angel Walker of Boston, Massachusetts; three sisters, Sara Shaw of Alvin; Margie Bowman (Elijah) of Goose Creek; and Annie Washington (Jervey) of Jamestown; three brothers, Scott Goodman (Sherry) of Goose Creek; Mack Goodman (Melody) and Preston Goodman (Barbara), both of Charleston; his mother and father-in-law, Harry and Harriett Bush of Cross; two godchildren, Sierra Goodman and Rashanda Britt; and five grandchildren.
