J.W. Hamilton, Kingstree - Funeral services for J.W. “Bozie” Hamilton, conducted by the Rev. Brian Williams and the Rev. Franklin Fulmore, were held Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Greater Bethel AME Church of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Pressley’s Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery of Kingstree. Mr. Hamilton died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Trinitas Regional Medical Center of Elizabeth, New Jersey. He was born January 14, 1954, in Kingstree, the son of the late Andrew and Violet Hamilton. He received his formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County and graduated from Kingstree Senior High School in 1972. After graduating from high school he moved to Newark, New Jersey, where he was employed with General Colors and later as a security guard. He attended Allen African Methodist Episcopal Church of Newark, New Jersey. A brother, James A. Hamilton, Jr., preceded him in death. Survivors are: one son, Dwight Hamilton of Sumter; and three sisters, Gracie Ellison (King) of Hillside, New Jersey; Ruth George (Lawson) of Kingstree; and Barbara Selby (Molton) of Florence.
