Funeral services for Deacon Clossie Williams, Sr., conducted by the Rev. Joshua Prioleau, were held Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Day Dawn Baptist Church of Pineville. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Spring Wood Cemetery of Cross.

Deacon Williams died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at his residence. He was born November 22, 1942, the son of the late Eula Archie Williams and Jimmie Lee Williams. He was a member of Ocean Avenue Baptist Church in New Jersey, where he served on the Deacon Board and as Treasurer for many years. He was a member of the Baptist Deaconís Association. After moving to South Carolina, he became a member of Day Dawn Baptist Church. He was employed by Hudson County Vocational School for 23 years as a bus driver. A daughter, Claudia Williams, preceded him in death.

Survivors are: his wife, Regina Williams of the home; seven children, Clossie Williams, Jr., Casey Williams, Corey Williams, Courtney Williams (Kisha), Celeste Williams, Troy Burton, and Karen Burton; one adopted daughter, April James; two sisters, Anna Toatley and Nellia Williams; one brother, Jayce Williams; his mother-in-law, Edith Tolen; 26 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
