Seniors Patrol - The Kingstree Police Department is offering a seniors patrol wellness check. Any elderly, ill or bedridden residents of the Town of Kingstree who would like for the police department to contact them on a regular basis should call Chief Eric Williams or Police Chaplain the Rev. Senior Bingo - The senior citizens of Lane invite any senior citizen to join them every first and third Tuesday at Lane Recreation Center on Broomstraw Rd. for ďSenior Bingo.Ē
Housing Authority - The Housing Authority of Kingstree will meet every third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at 1022 Lexington Ave., Kingstree.
Health Screening - The Nursing Department of Francis Marion University has been approved to provide free health screenings every Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Felician Center located at 1000 Thorne Avenue, Kingstree. Sugar testing, vision testing etc. will be provided free of charge. In addition, a licensed nurse will be available to assist individuals with some health planning on a regular basis.
Program - Through The Storm Outreach, Inc., a Maternity Group Home located in Kingstree, has beds available for youth ages 16 to 22. They will come pick the youth up from your facility and intake them into their program for up to 540 days. There are five beds available for pregnant and parenting girls. Yoga Classes - Regular yoga classes for beginners and Chair yoga classes are offered at the St. Albanís Episcopal Church Parrish Hall at 305 Hampton Ave., Kingstree. Please use the door at the hall that does not face Hampton Ave. on the left side. The classes are open to a diverse population and require no experience with yoga. 4-H Day Camp - Williamsburg County 4-H will be hosting a Summer Festival July 31, at the Kingstree Town Recreation Center on Nelson Blvd. in Kingstree from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The festival will have livestock animals, arts and crafts, and ice cream cones. Proceeds from an admission fee will benefit the local 4-H Clubs.
4-H Day Camp - Williamsburg County 4-H will be hosting a Day Camp at the Clemson Extension office at 9 Courthouse Square in Kingstree July 28 - 30 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. daily. Blood Drive - The American Red Cross is seeing fewer appointments at its blood donation centers and blood drives this summer than what is needed to ensure blood and platelets continue to be available for patients. Donors are urged to make an appointment to give blood with the Red Cross to help prevent a summer shortage. Citizens can donate on July 26, from 12-5 p.m. at the Williamsburg County Recreation Center at 2084 Thurgood Marshall Highway.
Food Plot Course - Clemson Extension and the National Wild Turkey Federation will be hosting a Wildlife Food Plot Short Course Wednesday August 6, at Browns BBQ in Kingstree. The buffet supper will be served at 6:30, with the program running from 7:00pm- 8:00pm.
