A two vehicle collision has resulted in the death of a Hemingway man. The Williamsburg County Coroner Harrison McKnight said Samuel Green Jr., 56, of Hemingway was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred on Highway 41 and Harmon Street near Hemingway around 9:40am this morning. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a log truck and a vehicle driven by the Hemingway man were driving south on Highway 41. The log truck was in the right lane and the vehicle, which was in the left lane, made an abrupt left turn in front of the log truck, causing the two vehicles to collide. No charges are expected to be filed and the log truck operator was not injured. However, the investigation is ongoing.
