Funeral services for Willie “Lum” Howell, conducted by the Rev. Aaron T. Brown, were held Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Unity Missionary Baptist Church of Eutawville. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Unity Cemetery of Eutawville. Mr. Howell died Saturday, June 21, 2014, at his residence. He was born September 5, 1924, in Cross, the son of the late Edmond and Sibbie Finley Howell. He attended the public schools of Berkeley County. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church. Later he joined the Senior Choir where he served for many years. He was a member of Jehovah Lodge #351 and the Home Charity Lodge for many years. He was married to the late Ruth Richardson. A son, Mack, preceded him in death. Survivors are: four daughters, Anna Mobley (Charles) of Summerville; Ruthie Haskell of Cross; Sibbie Corbin (Herbert) of Forestville, Maryland; and Synthia Johnson (CJ) of District Heights, Maryland; six sons: Willie Howell, Jr. and Robert Howell, both of Cross; Joe Louis Howell of Washington, DC; Jerry Howell (Tonya) of Savannah, Georgia; Stanley Howell of Columbia; and Marion Howell of Summerton; one sister, Agnes Huger of Cross; 34 grandchildren; and 34
