Funeral services for Thomas J. Samuel, conducted by Elder Keith Nesmith and Elder Charles Davis, were held Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at St. Peter Way of The Cross Church of Andrews. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at St. John AME Church Cemetery of Andrews.
Mr. Samuel died Wednesday, June 25, 2014. He was born April 22, 1961, in Williamsburg County, the son of the Rev. Thomas and Viola Samuel. He was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County. He was a member of St. John AME Church. Survivors are: his wife, Gloria L.P. Samuel; five children, Bryant and Dominic, both of Columbia; Marquite of Myrtle Beach; Laquanda of Andrews; and Danielle of the home; three brothers, Edwin (McKeater), Donell (Andrea), both of Andrews; and Alexander Samuel of Columbia; nine sisters, Thomasena Pushia of Columbia; Doris Dukes (Kenneth) of Kingstree; Shelia Samuel of Greensboro, North Carolina; Linda Briggs of Syracuse, New York; Abigail Samuel, Sharon Turner (Bernard), Yolanda Samuel, Lottie Samuel, and Miranda Samuel, all of Andrews; his mother-in-law, Lorena Porcher of Nesmith; and five grandchildren.
