A man is reported to have non-life threatening injuries after the car he was driving rolled over and burst into flames. The Saturday afternoon crash occurred on Highway 52 near Sykes. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Ronnie Wallace, 59, of Kingstree, was traveling northbound on Highway 52 when he lost control of his 2000 Sabb, crossed the median and flipped over. The vehicle came to rest in the southbound lane then burst into flames. Wallace, who was wearing a seatbelt told The News in a phone interview that a man who witnessed the crash came to his rescue and pulled him from the burning vehicle. He was later transported by EMS to a local hospital then airlifted to another hospital. Wallace is resting at home. He said he is sore and bruised but lucky to be alive. South Lynches Fire Department also assisted in the crash.
