Seniors Patrol -The Kingstree Police Department is offering a seniors patrol wellness check. Any elderly, ill or bedridden residents of the Town of Kingstree who would like for the police department to contact them on a regular basis should call Chief Eric Williams or Police Chaplain the Rev. Harold Jackson. Chief Williams or Rev. Jackson can be reached at 355-5435 or come by the police department and leave your name, phone number, and address.

Senior Bingo - The senior citizens of Lane invite any senior citizen to join them every first and third Tuesday at Lane Recreation Center on Broomstraw Rd. for “Senior Bingo.”
Housing Authority -The Housing Authority of Kingstree will meet every third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at 1022 Lexington Ave., Kingstree.
Health Screening - The Nursing Department of Francis Marion University has been approved to provide free health screenings every Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Felician Center located at 1000 Thorne Avenue, Kingstree. Sugar testing, vision testing etc. will be provided free of charge. In addition, a licensed nurse will be available to assist individuals with some health planning on a regular basis.
Child Screenings - Williamsburg County School District Office of Special Services, located at 500 North Academy Street, Kingstree, (843) 355-5533, will hold child find screenings each month.
Program - Through The Storm Outreach, Inc., a Maternity Group Home located in Kingstree, has beds available for youth ages 16 to 22. They will come pick the youth up from your facility and intake them into their program for up to 540 days.
There are five beds available for pregnant and parenting girls.

Yoga Classes - Regular yoga classes for beginners and Chair yoga classes are offered at the St. Alban’s Episcopal Church Parrish Hall at 305 Hampton Ave., Kingstree. Please use the door at the hall that does not face Hampton Ave. on the left side. The classes are open to a diverse population and require no experience with yoga. More challenging postures and sequences are occasionally offered.

POD Drill - Hurricane season is here are you ready? Williamsburg County Emergency Management Division CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) will sponsor POD Drill (Points of Distribution Drill) on Saturday, July 12, at Kingstree Recreation Center across from Fred’s same side as Dollar General and Markette, 375 Nelson Blvd., Kingstree, from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.
POD Drill ~ PODs are centralized locations where supplies are delivered and the public travels to the site to pick up life sustaining commodities following a disaster or an emergency. Commodities usually include shelf stable food and water, etc.
Free refreshments will be served and hurricane readiness material will be given. For more information please call 354-9330.
Celebration - Kingstree First Assembly of God will host their third annual “Freedom Celebration” on Friday, July 4, at 6:30 p.m. They will start things off with a cookout.
Afterwards, they will host a patriotic concert and will light the sky with a spectacular firework display. The event is free and open to the public.
