The Williamsburg HomeTown Chamber presented the June Image Award to Jenkinson, Jarrett and Kellahan, P.A. Attorneys at Law. The law firm was originally founded by William E. Jenkinson in 1945 with a goal of serving Williamsburg County residents. In 1971, William E. “Billy” Jenkinson joined his father’s firm with his brother Gordon B. “Bubber” joining in 1976. The father and his sons worked together until Mr. Jenkinson’s death in 1991. It has been said that Mr. Jenkinson never retired but rather continued to practice law for 46 years in the firm he founded. Mr. Jenkinson was a valuable member of this community serving as Mayor of Kingstree and president of the Williamsburg County Bar Association. In 1993, Ernie Jarrett joined the firm and in 1995 Jennifer Kellahan became a member of the prestigious practice. In 2002, Bubber left the firm to pursue a private practice and Family Court Judgeship. Judge Jenkinson now serves as a Family Court Judge for the Third Judicial Circuit. Tom Thompson became an associate member of the firm in 2013. The business has been located at 120 West Main Street in Kingstree for the past 85 years. Now known as Jenkinson, Jarrett and Kellahan, P.A. since 2002, this firm serves clients from the low country region and beyond in South Carolina.
The practice handles automobile accidents, slip and fall claims, wrongful death claims, estate planning and probate, social security workers compensation, family court matters, criminal defense, and real estate transactions.
To assist with daily operations and to help the professional staff, the company utilizes runners to gather and pick up material from the courthouse, judges, other law offices, or businesses. Jenkinson, Jarrett and Kellahan provides an opportunity for young people to gain experience and to observe professionals at work.
In addition to the specialized services offered by the firm, the attorneys are great advocates for this community and show their support through involvement in the following organizations:
The Kingstree Rotary Club, The Williamsburg HomeTown Chamber, Kingstree Community Youth, The Williamsburg Regional Hospital Board, The Lions Club, Williamsburg Technical College, Williamsburg Alcohol and Drug Abuse, South Carolina Water Fowl Association, The Felician Center, Williamsburg County Development Board, the African American Historical Alliance, the Citadel Board of Visitors, Williamsburg County First Steps, Williamsburg County Voters Registration Commission, and the Williamsburgh Historical Society.
Without a doubt Jenkinson, Jarrett and Kellahan not only provides excellent professional service, but their community service makes this firm an outstanding community business.
