Louise Tisdale, Kingstree - Funeral services for Mother Louise Chandler Tisdale, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Herman Gibson, Jr., were held Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, directed by Pressley's Funeral Home.

Mother Tisdale died Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Carolinas Hospital System of Florence. She was born August 10, 1923, the daughter of the late Eddie and Lula Chandler. She was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Senior Choir, Usher Board, Missionary Society, and Hospitality Committee. She was honored as the “Mother of the Church.” She received her education in the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was married to the late Floyd Tisdale. Three children, Royce, James, and Patricia, preceded her in death. Two brothers, Sharper and Roosevelt Chandler, preceded her in death.
Survivors are: one daughter, Lula Tisdale of the home; two sons, Jayee Tisdale (Rovenia) of Andrews; and Amos Tisdale of West Park, Florida; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
