Charlie Levine, Cross -  Funeral service for Charlie Levine, conducted by the Rev. Jonathan J. Baker and the Rev. Clifford Levine, were held Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Jehovah AME Church of Cross. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery?of Cross. Mr. Levine died Sunday, June 1, 2014. He was born March 14, 1952, in Cross, the son of the late Prince “Pete” and Robertsena Guest Levine. A daughter, Marsenia Levine Collins and two brothers, Benjamin Levine and Fred “Sammy” Jenkins, preceded him in death. He was a member of Jehovah AME Church. He was a brick mason, a painter and a musician. He received his education in the public schools of Berkeley County at Central High and Cross High Schools.Survivors are: two sons, Leonard C. Spann of Orlando, Florida; and Raheem Foster of Charlotte, North Carolina; four daughters, Brandy Smith and Lynn Thompson of Jersey City, New Jersey; Charisse Davis of Cross; and Charlene Thompson of Orlando, Florida; six sisters, Whilhelmenia McLaurin (Robert) and Gloria Johnson (Robert), both of New Haven, Connecticut; Rosa Moultrie of Charleston; Carrie Campbell (Melvin) of Brooklyn, New York; Alfreda President of Cross; and Shirley Gilliam (Minister Barry) of Goose Creek; four brothers, the Rev. Clifford Levine (Victoria) and Michael Levine, both of Cross; Minister Alfred Levine (Bernice) of Charleston; and Bernard Levine of James Island; and seven grandchildren.
