Roberta Beaufort, Kingstree - Funeral services for Roberta Margo Beaufort, conducted by the Rev. Herbert Godwin, were held Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Wilson Chapel First Missionary Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Pressley’s Funeral Home, followed at the churchyard cemetery. Ms. Beaufort died Monday, June 2, 2014, at her residence in Kingstree. She was born July 8, 1946, the daughter of Will and Illar Mae Barr Beaufort. Three siblings, Fruman Beaufort, Wilbur Beaufort and Jannie Lee Wilson, preceded her in death. She was educated in Kingstree before moving to New Jersey as a teenager. She was formerly married to Simmie Howard Davis. She lived in New Jersey for over 40 years. While in New Jersey she went to nursing school and worked as a nurse for over 30 years before moving back to South Carolina. In March 2004, she started Beaufort Taxi Service and owned and operated the business in Williamsburg County for nearly 10 years. She attended Wilson Chapel First Missionary Baptist Church of Kingstree. Survivors are: one daughter, Theresa M. Beaufort Davis of Kingstree; three brothers, Samuel Beaufort of Miami, Florida; Reggie E. Beaufort (Cherry) of Roselle, New Jersey; and Terry M. Beaufort (Phyllis) of Kingstree; and one sister, Mattie McKnight (John) of Sumter.
