The Service to Community Award is presented annually to the Limestone alumnus who exhibits the ideals of civic responsibilities. This year’s recipient was Linda S. Woods ’07 presented on Saturday, April 26, at Limestone College of Gaffney.
Linda has been the Victim/Witness Advocate and Pretrial Intervention Specialist with the Williamsburg County Solicitor’s Office for more than 20 years and she is still employed with this agency.
She works closely with the prosecutor, law enforcement, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), State Law Enforcement Division (SLED), South Carolina Attorney General Office (AG) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Linda, Post–Baccalaureate/Organizations Degrees, Institution include Certificate of Criminal Justice Information System Security and Awareness – State Law Enforcement Division (SLED); Victim Service Provider, Office of Governor, Office of Victim Services Education & Certification (OVSEC).
Her community involvement/organizations (offices held) are Williamsburg Executive Planning Committee, Williamsburg County Grievance Committee, Member of South Carolina Pretrial Intervention Association and a Member of South Carolina Victim Advocate Association.
The awards received by Linda are an Associate in Public Service Criminal Justice Technology, Certificate in Law Enforcement, Plague for Dedicated Service of Office of Solicitor, Certificate of Outstanding Service, Certificate of Perfect Attendance and Certificate of Achievement.
Linda is involved with extracurricular activities that include volunteering with adoptive family gift give-away, active in campaigning with various elections, assisting with victim advocate retreats and interacting with community events. Linda resides in Kingstreeand has three children and one step-son.
