Charles Davis, Andrews - Funeral services for Charles Edward “Papa” Davis, conducted by Elder Keith Nesmith and Pastor Wilbur Fulton, were held Friday, May 23, 2014, at St. Peter Way of the Cross Church of Andrews. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Asbury/Bethlehem Cemetery of Andrews.

Mr. Davis died Friday, May 16, 2014. He was born June 3, 1954, in the Morrisville Community of Andrews, the son of Willie Davis and the late Carrie Nell Gibson Davis. He attended Chavis Middle School in 1970 and graduated from St. Mark High School, Class of 1973. He was an employee of Oneita Industries for over 10 years and a logger for 30 plus years. He was a member of the Home Cherokee Masonic Lodge #415. He was married to the late Delores Holloway Davis. One brother, Marvin Davis, preceded him in death. Survivors, in addition to his father of Andrews, are: four sons, Charles D. Davis and LoTony Davis, both of Andrews; and Timothy Davis and Clyde Davis, both of Rochester, New York; one daughter, Tywanda Davis (DeShannon Johnson) of Kingstree; two brothers, Wilbur Davis of Hemingway; and Ray Davis of Rochester, New York; five sisters, Carrie Mouzon (Nathaniel) and Myrtle Cobb (Willie), both of Georgetown; Kaleather Haynes (Andrew) of Creedmoor, North Carolina; Beverly Harris (James) and Lou Davis, both of Durham, North Carolina; one nephew raised as his own, Steven Dwayne Graham of Andrews; and two special mothers, Olethia Grant and Daisy Grant, both of Andrews; and four grandsons.
