Ralph Ross, Kingstree - Funeral services for Ralph Eugene “Ralphie” Ross, conducted by the Rev. James Graham, were held Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Clauddie Henryhand Memorial Chapel of Kingstree, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home. Mr. Ross died Tuesday, May 13, 2014 in Dover, Delaware. He was born April 22, 1938, in Milford, Delaware. He attended school in Milford, Delaware. After completing high school, he joined the US Army. He was married to the late Margaret M. Ross. He was a member of St. Phillip AME Church, where he participated in and gave donations to different projects that took place in the church. He was employed with the US Army until he received an honorable discharge. Later on, he went into the trucking business. Survivors are: 12 children, Isabelle Burgess (Raymond), Gloria Reid, Claudette Graham and Charildean Swinton, all of Salters; Brindel Brown and Debra Swinton, both of Kingstree; James A. Swinton (Georgia) of Trio; Rocky Swinton of St. Petersburg, Florida; Randy Swinton (Senitta) of Nesmith; Mary Smoot (Ray), LTC Larry Swinton and Sheryl Swinton, all of Columbia; one step-son, Barry Fisher (Floreatha) of Pokomon City, Maryland; two adopted sons, Eddie Green and Robert Green, both of Andrews; two sisters, Sharon Howell of Lincoln, Delaware; and Nettie Cannon of Dover, Delaware; two brothers, Clarence Cannon of Lincoln, Delaware; and William Jefferson of Milford, Delaware; 29 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
