Wallace McCray, Salters - Funeral services for Wallace “Wayne” McCray, conducted by the Rev. Louis R. Ashley, were held Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Jerusalem United Methodist Church of Salters, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home. Mr. McCray died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the residence of his daughter, Ann, in Salters. He was born September 2, 1950, in Williamsburg County, the son of the late Lawrence McCray and Annie McCray. He was a member of Jerusalem United Methodist Church. He attended Blakely School. He worked as a logger. He was married to the late Mrs. Sarah Jane McCray. Five siblings preceded him in death. Survivors are: two daughters, Angela McCray Barr of Salters; and Latarsha Murray (Marlon) of Goose Creek; five sons, Wallace McCray, Jr., Leartis McCray and Stephen McCray, all of Myrtle Beach; Warren McCray and Anthony McCray, both of Rochester, New York; two sisters, Annette McCray (Dennis) of Salters; and Audrey McCray of Greensboro, North Carolina; eight brothers, Nathaniel McCray, James McCray (Sherrie) and Virgil McCray (Sheliah), all of Salters; Frankie McCray of Sumter; Ben McCray (Deloris), Tim McCray, Theron McCray and Jerome G. McCray, all of Greensboro, North Carolina; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
