Brown found guilty

  • Tuesday, May 27, 2014

William Marion Brown, 57, of Kingstree was sentenced to 35 years in prison after a three-day trial in Williamsburg County. Brown was convicted on two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a minor in first degree and one count Lewd Act on a Minor. Brown was arrested in 2011. The charges stem from incidents that were alleged to have occurred between 2004 and 2007.

Brown will serve the sentences concurrently. He will be eligible for parole when he turns 87 years old.

After sentencing, the victim addressed the court saying she will not be defined by what happened and forgave Brown for his actions.

There is an unrelated indictment pending regarding a second victim. A trial date has yet to be determined.
