Colvin Howard, Manning - Colvin Howard, 94, husband of Jacqueline “Jackie” Hardee Howard, died at his residence in Manning Wednesday, May 14, 2014.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Kingstree United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Howard was born December 21, 1919, in Montgomery, Alabama, the son of the late John Bibb Howard and Genella Rutherford Howard. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Alabama, attended the University of Southern California, and received a Master of History Degree from Wetumpka College. He was a retired teacher, having taught two years in Hollywood Military Academy and for 31 years in the Los Angeles School System.
He was a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church and was a veteran.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of Manning, are: his nephews and nieces.
