  • Wednesday, May 14, 2014

Local and state law enforcement agencies descended on Williamsburg County Tuesday to conduct a drug roundup. The roundup began on May 13, around 1:30 in the afternoon. At one point the downtown area of Kingstree was flooded with law enforcement while a state law enforcement agency helicopter hovered above. Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office, along with South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and Florence County Sheriff's Department personnel served warrants on eleven individuals who were charged with either distribution of cocaine, heroine or crack cocaine. Two individuals were charged with possession of marijuana. Williamsburg County Sheriff John Bartell said the investigation is ongoing.
