G.R. Eaddy, Kingstree - Gareth Rhuedarf “G.R.” Eaddy, 86, widower of Sara Calcutt Eaddy, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in Charleston VA Hospital. Graveside funeral services were held Friday, May 9, 2014, at Kingstree First Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mr. Eaddy was born May 13, 1927, in Florence County, the son of the late John Wilford Eaddy and Senora Melvina Cox Eaddy. He was a Navy veteran, the retired owner of G.R.’s Body Shop, and was a former instructor at Williamsburg Technical College. He was a member of McClary-Cole VFW Post 6500. In addition to his parents and his first wife Sara, he was preceded in death by his second wife Ruby McClam Eaddy, one stepson Jack Ferguson, four brothers, Heston Eaddy, John W. Eaddy, Jr., Jack Henry Eaddy, and Willard Trise Eaddy, and one sister Mary Travis Hodge. Survivors are: one son, Spencer Eaddy (Annette) of Blythewood; one daughter, Linda Strong (Wayne) of Kingstree; one stepson, David Ferguson (Faye) of Allendale; four sisters, Marguerite Eaddy Tobias and Genevieve Eaddy Richburg, both of Greeleyville; Patricia Eaddy Tisdale, of Kingstree; and Sinuerette “Rita” Eaddy of Prosperity; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
