Raymond Woods, Sr., Kingstree

Raymond Woods, Sr., Kingstree - Raymond Andrew Woods, Sr., 80, husband of Brenda Harrington Woods, died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at his residence.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 30, 2014, in the chapel at Williamsburg Funeral Home. Burial, with full military honors, followed at Kingstree Memorial Gardens, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mr. Woods was born June 9, 1933, in Hartsville, the son of the late Louise Outlaw Woods and E. Allen Woods, Sr. He was a graduate of Hartsville High School and was retired from Southern Bell. He was a US Army veteran of Korea, retired from the SC National Guard (132nd MP Unit) after 23 years of service there, and after being reactivated, served stateside as Family Support Coordinator during Desert Storm in 1989-90. He was a member of Woodmen of the World, Chapter 27, where he was serving as treasurer. Two brothers, E. Allen Woods, Jr. and Joe L. Woods, preceded him in death. Survivors, in addition to his wife of Kingstree, are: one son, Andy Woods of Hartsville; one daughter, Sherry Cantor (Connie) of Symsonia, Kentucky; one stepson, Byron Phillips (Dawn) of Sumter; one stepdaughter, Susan Brunson of Lexington; two sisters, Brenda Wall (Gary) of Surfside Beach; and Diane McKinley of Myrtle Beach; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
