Marion Vaughan, Kingstree - Mrs. Marion O達ryan Vaughan, widow of Ralph Howard Vaughan, Sr. of Hampton, died at her son痴 residence Monday, April 28, 2014.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 2, 2014, at the Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, Inc., followed at Hampton Cemetery.

Born October 25, 1920, in Kingstree, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. O達ryan. She studied music at Winthrop College and Converse College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree with a minor in organ. After teaching for a year in Marshall, North Carolina, she moved to Hampton in 1945, teaching music, piano and reading in the Hampton and Varnville public schools for 30 years. She was the last surviving charter member of the Hampton Presbyterian Church, where she was organist for 45 years. She also served as organist for the Varnville United Methodist Church for 10 years. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Hampton Music Club and Hampton Book Club. Four brothers, Col. Robert Claude McCabe, Dr. Thomas McCabe, J.D. O達ryan, Jr. and William O達ryan, preceded her in death. Survivors are: two children, Dee Vaughan of Greenville; and Ralph Vaughan, Jr. (Julie) of Buford, Georgia; and two granddaughters.
