Curtis Johnson, Kingstree - Funeral services for Curtis De’Marcus “Markie” Johnson, conducted by the Rev. J. Jeannetté Cooper and Minister Kerri Minor, were held Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Old Mt. Olive Cemetery of Kingstree.
Mr. Johnson was baptized at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital of Charleston on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, and he died Thursday, April 10, 2014. He was born July 26, 1988, in Kingstree, the son of Curtis Johnson and Doris E. Scott. He received his education in the public schools of Williamsburg County.Survivors are: his mother, Doris E. Scott of the home; his step-father, Ervin Tisdale of Trio; his father and step-mother, Curtis Johnson and Gladys McCrea Johnson of Kingstree; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Odell Scott of Kingstree; his paternal grandfather, Ben Johnson; five sisters, Mrs. Lashanda Jones-Burgess (Charles, Jr.) of Greeleyville; Melissa Jones-Fulton (Gregory) of Salters; Francine Scott of Myrtle Beach; Tiffany Tisdale of the home; and McKayla Johnson of Kingstree; six brothers, Antonio and Antwone Johnson, Willie Shaw, and Robert McFadden, all of Kingstree; and Deotay and Justic Howard of Trio; two special brothers, Dale Scott of Hickory, North Carolina; and Anthony Brown; and his Godmother, Mrs. Gardenia Johnson of Clearwater, Florida.
