Bernard Chandler, Kingstree - Funeral services for Bernard Vernal “Bernie Mack” Chandler, conducted by Bishop Dr. Roosevelt Fulton and Elder Anthony Chandler, were held Wednesday, April 17, 2014, at Evangelistic Temple Way of the Cross Church. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Crossroad Cemetery of Kingstree.Mr. Chandler died Saturday, April 12, 2014. He was born November 24, 1964, in Kingstree, the son of the late Levi and Helen Mae Odell Tucker Chandler. He grew up in the Church of God & True Holiness. He was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County. His hobby was landscaping and he enjoyed cooking. Two siblings, Helen Marie Chandler Williams and Jacob Chandler, preceded him in death.Survivors are: three sisters, Patricia Shaw of the home, Cheryl McCray (James) of Andrews; and Frances McClary (Terry) of Myrtle Beach; three brothers, Esaw Chandler (Gertrude) of Kingstree; Leroy Chandler (Frances) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Norris Chandler (Patricia) of Myrtle Beach; four sons he reared as his own, Larry Johnson (Belinda) of Kingstree; Jamont Johnson (Latoya) of North Fort Virginia, Virginia; Dwayne Rouse (Chiquitta) of Columbia; and Oniel Dazlter of Myrtle Beach; two special friends, Willie Tisdale of the home; and Vanretha Mayrant of Kingstree; and 12 step-grandchildren.
