Benjamin Pressley, Jr.,Hartford CT. - Funeral services for Benjamin J. “Benny” Pressley, Jr., conducted by the Rev. James McCray, were held Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Clauddie Henryhand Memorial Chapel of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Friendship #2 Cemetery of Nesmith. Mr. Pressley died Thursday, March 27, 2014, in Hartford, Connecticut. He was born January 23, 1934, in Marion, the son of the late Ben and Josephine Rowley Pressley. He moved to New Jersey, where he attended The Baptist Church and was a member of the Tuscan Brother Lodge #105. He received his formal education in the public schools of New Jersey. After high school, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he served two years as a human resource specialist. After the military, he moved to Hartford, Connecticut, where he was self-employed as an auto mechanic. Three siblings, Eddie Lee Pressley, Levern Pressley and Essie Mae Wilson, preceded him in death.

Survivors are: two sons, Kenneth Lewis and Tyrone Wiggins, both of Hartford, Connecticut; four daughters, Eula Wiggins and Frances Green, both of East Hartford, Connecticut; and Charlotte Pierce and Sharonda James, both of Hartford, Connecticut; two brothers, Ben Pressley, Jr., of Myrtle Beach; and James Scott of Nesmith; five sisters, Mary McCullough of Andrews; Mattie Forbes of Rochester, New York; Ora Lee McCrea of Myrtle Beach; and Shirley J. Pressley and Joann Scott, both of Nesmith, SC; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
