Benjamin Jenkins, Bronx, NY - Benjamin “Bub” Jenkins died Wednesday, April 9, 2014.
Mr. Jenkins was born January 10, 1927, in Johns Island, the son of the late Benjamin Jenkins and Richardine White Jenkins. He was educated in the public schools of Johns Island. He then moved to Freeport, New York, where he was employed by Union 272 for 32 years. He was married to the late Ann Legare. A daughter, Richardine Ann Ruth Jenkins, and a sister, Maybell Washington, preceded him in death. He was a faithful brother to the Jehovah Witnesses for 35 years.Survivors are: his wife of 10 years; four sons, Benjamin, Jr., Bernard Joseph and Edward Roland, all of Bronx, New York; and Barron Richard of Laurel, Maryland; one stepson, Albert Lagare of Ridgeland; two brothers, Eugene Jenkins of Johns Island; and Edward Jenkins of Bay Shore, Long Island; three sisters, Mary Rivers and Rose Williams, both of Hartford, Connecticut; and Wilhelmenia B. Cole of Johns Island; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
