Darrin Ravenell, Lane - Funeral services for Darrin Ravenell, conducted by the Rev. Clifford Levine, were held Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Bethel AME Church of Lane. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at McKnight Cemetery of Lane.
Mr. Ravenell died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at McLeod Hospice of Florence. He was born March 22, 1973, at MUSC of Charleston, the son of Mrs. Rosa M. Middleton and Isaiah Washington. He attended North Charleston High School, Berkeley High School and St. Stephen High School, where he was a member of the JROTC and a trumpet player on the band. In 1991, he graduated from Job Corp. He was a member of House of Refuge Church in Cordesville. He traveled to Atlanta, Georgia and Seattle, Washington, where he worked in construction. He also worked at several restaurants. Survivors are: his mother, Rosa M. Middleton of Lane; his father, Isaiah Washington of North Carolina; one sister, Juanita Ravenell Ikharo of Atlanta, Georgia; and one brother, Sammie Jerome Ravenell of Moncks Corner.
