Maybelle Thomas, Kingstree - Mrs. Maybelle Moore Thomas, 72, wife of Jerry Thomas, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at McLeod Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Kingstree Church of God of Prophecy. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Twin Pines Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery. Mrs. Thomas was born July 27, 1941, in Williamsburg County, the daughter of the late Willie D. Moore and Jesse Micheau Moore. She attended Williamsburg High School, was a homemaker, and for 29 years was the pastor of the Kingstree Church of God of Prophecy. A son, Danny Lee Thomas, and a brother, Heyward D. Moore, preceded her in death.
Survivors, in addition to her husband of Kingstree, are: three daughters, Judy Floyd (Wayne), Brenda Evans (Matthew), and Jill T. Roark, all of Kingstree; four sisters, Irene Jolly (Jimmy), Ales Conyers, and Mary Tisdale (Grady), all of Kingstree; and Hilda Kirby (Donnie) of Darlington; three brothers, Rhett Moore (Dorothy), Jimmy Moore, and Kenneth "Bobo" Moore (Linda Sue), all of Kingstree; and 5 grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Kingstree Church of God of Prophecy Building Fund, 701 Fulton Avenue, Kingstree, SC 29556.
