Francina Burroughs, Kingstree - Funeral services for Mrs. Francina "Tacky" Scott Burroughs, conducted by the Rev. Warren Murdock, Sr., were held Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Friendship United Methodist Church of Nesmith. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Burrows Cemetery of Nesmith. Mrs. Burroughs died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at her residence. She was born June 15, 1946, in Kingstree, the daughter of the late David Green Cunningham, Emily Faye Alston and Robert Nesmith, Sr. She was reared by her grandmother, the late Rena Alston Scott. She received her formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County and graduated from Tomlinson High School in 1965. She was currently employed with Williamsburg County Public School System, where she worked for 13 years. She also worked at various sewing factories such as Warsaw Manufactory, Hebron Textile, Island Textile, and also Tupperware Manufacturing. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church of Nesmith. Survivors are: one daughter, Monique S. Pressley (Gregory A. Gibson, Special Friend) of Kingstree; three sisters, Jaunita C. Wragg (Lucian, Jr.) of Kingstree; Rumell McCloud (George) of Nesmith; and Kathy Cunningham of Woodbridge, Virginia; four brothers, Harold Pope (Evelyn) of Kingstree; Raymond Gamble (Arthaleta) of Florence; Robert Wilson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Bartell Porchea (Mary) of Dorchester, Massachusetts; a son-in-law that she took as her own son, Darrell B. Pressley of Nesmith; and two grandsons.
